Troy Marshall, Owner
Troy Marshall has come a long way since his days as the sole estimator, project manager and final job inspector of Marshall Roofing, Siding and Windows. Even while the company was in its infancy, Troy divided his time between captain at the Fairfax County Fire Department and his aspirations to provide superior roofing services to the Northern Virginia area.
Initially, Troy began his company in 1980 without the modern conveniences of cell phones and Internet, but in 1995, he became one of the first home improvement contractors to embrace online advertisements and streaming video as a resource to meet the needs of his growing customer base.
Today the company has expanded to the entire metro area. And Troy credits his professional success to his personal philosophy that the customer is KING and customer service is TOP priority. This is evident in the project management phase of all Marshall Roofing projects. Unlike most companies, Troy’s personal contact information is accessible to EVERY Marshall Roofing customer 24 hours a day/7 days a week—in the event a concern regarding an ongoing home improvement project arises after office hours.
Although, no longer a field estimator, Troy still enjoys meeting homeowners and consistently makes himself available to consult with any client about their project. Offering a valuable service to his community has remained at the foundation of his business principles and customer service is at its core.
When Troy does take time to relax, he enjoys golf and tennis. He and his wife Nikki live in Catlett, Virginia, and love to travel to any location with a beach.
Chris Butler, Vice President
Although too humble to ever admit it, Chris Butler is a home improvement guru. It’s because of his vast knowledge that he is our lead estimator. When a complex roofing job needs to be explained to our technicians, Chris is readily available to patiently direct the technician. Chris has been with Marshall Roofing, Siding and Windows for 20 years, yet, he has been roofing much longer. As a local resident himself, Chris believes he knows what the clients expect, and specifically, what they need. Chris has remained in the home improvement industry because he finds it rewarding to help homeowners upgrade the appearance of their homes while downgrading the need for maintenance.
Annette Dunbar, Office Manager
Annette has been with Marshall Roofing, Siding and Windows, Inc. since 2002. As the office manager, she plans, directs and coordinates administrative services, including human resources, departmental processes and general office support. In addition to all of her administrative responsibilities, she also assists the new installation division by placing and tracking all orders. Annette most enjoys the family-like atmosphere of Marshall. Because she in constant communication with the new installation clients, she tends to develop a fantastic rapport with them and enjoys the consultation conversation where she helps clients solve a project concern or complete an ongoing project. Annette’s peers describe her as intensely focused and internally motivated. Our client’s love her because she always has a smile in her voice and is very accommodating.
Peter Vankleek, Quality Assurance Manager
Peter is the “promise keeper”. Aside from the sales estimator, Peter is the communication liaison between office manager, estimator, roofing crews and homeowner. At some point during and after the roofing installation process, Peter meets and consults with every homeowner. He is available to respond to and resolve effectively any homeowner issues, concerns or complaints before the roof’s completion. Peter gets satisfaction from seeing a completed roof job paired with an ecstatic homeowner. And smiles have always made Peter happy—most importantly, the huge grins he sees on his children every day.
Farrah Hudson, Marketing and Customer Relations Coordinator
As their communication strategist, Farrah is the “written” voice of Marshall Roofing. Her job is to aid the staff promoting seamless internal and external communication. Additionally, she target markets and corresponds with advertisers, maintains web content, and plans all the company’s participation in community events. Farrah considers herself a renegade and therefore, rarely wears matching socks.
Mike Sullivan, Estimator
Mike Sullivan has always found himself atop a ladder on a roof—but more than a decade ago it was for grossly different reasons; however Mike has maintained the same motivation. Mike genuinely enjoys the satisfaction he gets from helping a fellow citizen. Mike joined Marshall Roofing Siding and Windows after retiring from the Fairfax Fire and Rescue Department because he knew Troy was committed to quality work, good products and the industry’s best practices. Never backing down from a challenge, Mike finds roofing to be just a rewarding as firefighting. Mike and his wife Diane are lifelong Fairfax county residents. They share 5 children and 3 grandchildren.
Jessica De Vaughn, Service Division Manager
Jessica added her spunky personality to the Marshall Roofing team in the Fall 2010. As the service division manager, Jessica works directly with our service technicians to communicate the service concerns of clients. The service division is intensely dynamic, and Jessica is the perfect asset to the team because she enjoys pushing the staff to put the customer first and has a knack for making homeowners feel at ease. And this is what Jessica will say she likes most about her job. If one were to catch Jessica outside the office, you’ll most likely find her the life of the party somewhere else.
Lisa Nance, Service Division Coordinator
Lisa joined Marshall Roofing, Siding and Windows, Inc. more than two years ago, and she has worked in the construction industry for over 30 years. However, she brings more than just experience to Marshall Roofing, Siding and Windows. Lisa has diligence beyond compare. As the service division coordinator it is her job to ensure that all jobs are ordered both timely and accurately. Additionally, it is her voice our service clients hear when wanting updates on their pending projects. She most enjoys the family-like atmosphere of Marshall Roofing. In her leisure time, you’ll find Lisa spending time with her favorite person in the world—her son, Dylan.
